There will be no turkey for visitors to Historic Fort George in Niagara on the Lake this Thanksgiving weekend.
Parks Canada says, with the help of Niagara police and Niagara Parks police, a wild turkey, that has been causing headaches for pedestrians and motorists has been put down.
The big bird has been attacking passersby and last month knocked a motorcyclist off a bike.
Parks Canada officials says they used trained conservation professionals armed with shotguns to kill the bird.
An official with the agency says the action was taken after serious consideration, and relocating the big bird was determined not to be a feasible option.
