Two people are facing charges after a fight involving bear mace and a knife at Sunset Beach in St. Catharines.
It happened last night at 9 p.m. when officers were called to the beach for a disturbance call.
Police say 5 people were sprayed with bear mace and 3 people were assaulted.
During the altercation, it's alleged one man flashed a knife, as well.
All victims suffered non-life threatening injuries and were assessed by EMS, on scene.
One female victim was transported a local hospital for further treatment.
22 year old Mackenzie Benard of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with assault, administer noxious substance, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
Benard was released from custody with a future court date of September 1st.
23 year old Sasha Smith of St. Catharines was also arrested and charged with assault.
Smith was released from custody with a future court date of September 1st.
