The grim task of removing the bodies from the scene of a devastating house fire in Port Colborne started today.
Niagara Regional Police confirm that crews have located, and removed two bodies including the body of a 2 year old boy.
Four people were killed in the house fire that started early Tuesday morning on Nickel Street.
83 year Eva Burd was pronounced dead on the scene, but the bodies of her granddaughter, 37 year old Tammy Burd, and her two children 15 year old Samantha Zuvic, and 2 year old Josh Zuvic remained inside the unstable, and icy home until today.
Police say while a second body has been removed, they can't confirm whether the body is the mother or the daughter.
Efforts are underway to locate and remove the third body.
Fire crews told CKTB yesterday that they had located two bodies, but they were unable to remove them due to icy and unstable conditions.
The investigation continues into the cause of the fire.
The blaze started in the rear of the home.
