Two Hamilton paramedics are facing a charge of failing to provide the necessaries of life in connection with the shooting death of a 19 year old Good Samaritan.
Yosif Al- Hasnawi, a Brock University student was shot while trying to help an older man being accosted by two other men on the night of December 2nd, 2017.
The young man later died from his injuries in hospital.
Witnesses have said EMS took too long to treat the victim and get him to hospital.
They also told police the paramedics accused Al-Hasnawi of exaggerating his injury.
The head of OPSEU Local 256, Mario Posteraro, who represents the paramedics says the union is confident the pair will be found not guilty when all the evidence is presented.
