Two men arrested following string of car thefts in St. Catharines

Niagara Regional Police have been investigating over 20 cars that were stolen from the Ontario Street and Scott Street area.

Two St. Catharines men are facing numerous charges after a string of car thefts.

Niagara Regional Police have been investigating over 20 cars that were stolen from the Ontario Street and Scott Street area.

The cases frequently involved suspects smashing a window to access the car.

The investigations began back in December and on Tuesday officers responded to another report at a dealership on Ontario Street.

This time two suspects were identified.

47 year old Richard William Ford from St. Catharines is facing eight counts of Theft Under $5000, and nine counts of Mischief Under $5000.

39 year old Jake Walter Fisher also from St. Catharines is facing eight counts of Theft Under $5000, nine counts of Mischief Under $5000, and Fail to Comply - Probation Order.

The investigation is ongoing.
