At least two people have been bitten by coyotes in Grimsby.
It's been a weekend full of reports of coyote encounters, with two people and a number of pet dogs suffering bites.
Residents are reporting an aggressive coyote which has been attacking small dogs, and even people in the Nelles and Kerman Ave. area.
Kevin Strooband with the Lincoln County Humane Society there are two or three families of coyotes in the area, and the female mother of five pups seems to be the most aggressive out of the bunch.
His best advice is to avoid the Nelles and Kerman Ave. areas especially at night if you are walking a dog.
He says signs have been posted in the area warning residents of coyote activity.
Some residents are expressing frustration saying town and animal control officials aren't dong anything to protect the public.
Strooband says they only trap animals in distress, he says a trapper could be hired, but that would mean the death of the animals.
He says if you witness a coyote attack, you should call 911.
He says the coyotes will eventually move out of the area once the pups are old enough.
The town has posted information on it's website.
