Two Niagara Regional Councillors have been cleared of allegations they broke the Region's Code of Conduct.
In November of 2016 a formal complaint was filed with the Regional Clerk alleging Councillors Brian Heit and Kelly Edgar violated a number of provisions of the Code of Conduct for Members of Council.
It all stemmed from the circulation of a 45 page document entitiled a Call for Accountability at the NPCA.
However, The Region's Integrity Commissioner completed his investigation in February of 2017 and found that both councillors did not contravene the Code as alleged by the complainant and that no Code provisions were contravened.
John Mascarin also ruled that there is no sanction or penalty recommended for either councillor.
Mascarin's two reports to council were included in the weekly communications to councillors issued on March 24th .
