The union representing Ontario's college teachers has asked for a no board report after officials say the College Employer Council refused last week to engage in meaningful discussions.
OPSEU says it hopes the no board report will put pressure on the college's bargaining team to come up with an agreeable offer.
Once the report is issued, teachers can either strike or they can be locked out after 16 days.
The union says depending on what day the no-board report is issued, faculty and the colleges will be in a legal strike or lockout position in the week following Thanksgiving Day.
In a newsletter to members, OPSEU says " the College Employer Council continues to reject the basic principles of equity and fairness or to even engage in discussions on key faculty demands. It is clear that their proposals would entrench the inequities in our collective agreement and that they are set on abdicating their responsibilities for equal pay for equal work under Bill 148."
