United Way Niagara is stepping in to help seniors with a $123,039 investment in programs during the pandemic.
The money comes in part from the federal government's New Horizons for Seniors Program,
Niagara Region Community Services will be enhancing the Niagara Gatekeepers initiative to provide weekly over-the-phone check-ins, provide access to critical supplies, and ensure transportation to health related appointments.
Community Support Services of Niagara is also expanding their grocery delivery services. Residents can call 905-682-3800 ext. 706 to register.
Some of the money will also be used to help 211 continue to provide information on community based services during the pandemic.
