The first campaign for the newly amalgamated United Way of Niagara is officially underway.
Campaign Chair Sean Simpson has announced the ambitious goal:
"We set our goal as $5 million, we think that it's a big number but we certainly think it's achievable and I'm hoping it's a number that ultimately we look at in the rearview mirror when we announce our totals in the spring - I'm really looking forward to, hopefully, that we can surpass it."
In the past, Niagara was serviced by three different United Way factions - St. Catharines and District, Niagara Falls and Fort Erie, and South Niagara.
