We are just learning that Niagara police are looking for two suspects after a woman was stabbed and assaulted in a St. Catharines park.
It happened about 11:00 p.m. on Friday August 18 while she was walking home on Dundonald Street.
Two men followed her while making rude comments.
When she reached Pic Leeson Park one of the men hit her several times, knocking her to the ground.
A news release issued eight days after the assault says the woman was stabbed in the torso with a knife and knocked unconscious.
The suspects fled while the woman was taken to hospital where she underwent surgery for the significant injuries.
One suspect is a white male wearing glasses and a red shirt. He was described as muscular, about 150 pounds with tanned skin, and 25 to 30 years old.
The second suspect is a white male, who wore a black mask, about 25 to 30 years old.
Police say both suspects are believed to wear graffiti apparel and are known to carry graffiti pens and spray paint.
