Niagara police making progress in the investigation into a horrifying ordeal for a St.Catharines woman.
Three people have been arrested after the woman was allegedly held against her will and shot in the leg.
The incident was first reported to police as an armed robbery on Monday night at home on Lake Street.
Investigators now saying the victim was threatened and confined in the home by a male roommate, with the assistance of two women.
All three suspects left the residence prior to police arrival.
The victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to her lower leg and was transported to hospital.
Police have now arrested 22 year old Britanny York, and 38 year old Sandra Haslett both of St. Catharines.
Officers have also arrested 36 year old Dalshan Bains of St. Catharines.
The three are facing charges including forcible confinement, and extortion with a firearm.
Bains is also charged with discharging a firearm with intent to endanger life, aggravated assault, pointing a firearm and three other weapons charges.
Investigators are not looking for any additional suspects in connection with this investigation.
