A man has died following an incident on Highway 406 in St.Catharines this morning.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt tells CKTB a pedestrian was struck and killed following a hit and run just after 3 o'clock this morning.
Schmidt says a driver spotted a man on the roadway and called police.
It happened near Glendale Avenue, and the 406 was shut down for hours as police investigated.
Police are not sure what kind of vehicle was involved and is asking anyone with information to call the Niagara OPP detachment at 905-356-1311.
The name and age of the man killed have not been released, but Schmidt confirms that the victim was an adult male.
