There has been another tragic death connected to the Burgoyne Bridge in downtown St.Catharines.
OPP are looking for witnesses after a 43 year old man fell to his death onto the 406 at 5:30 this morning.
The Burgoyne Bridge and northbound 406 were closed for several hours as police investigated.
This comes less than a week after 19 year old Tanner Unger committed suicide at the Burgoyne Bridge last Thursday night.
Police have not confirmed if this morning's death was a suicide but they are looking for witnesses.
OPP Sgt Kerry Schmidt says they know several drivers stopped this morning but left before police could get a statement.
Schmidt urges any witnesses to call the OPP Niagara detachment.
Messages of hope and inspiration have been posted on the bridge since Unger's death.
The Mayor of St.Catharines Walter Sendzik tells CKTB he would like to see suicide barriers or netting installed on the bridge to prevent further incidents.
He has reached out to the region's CAO to see what can be done since the bridge is regionally owned.
