Convicted killer Paul Bernardo will not stand trial on a charge of weapons possession.
The Crown this morning deciding to withdraw the charge.
Bernardo was charged after a shank was allegedly found in his possession at Millhaven Institution.
The 54-year-old Bernardo had said he wanted to get the trial done before a parole hearing scheduled for later this month.
Bernardo can seek parole on October 17th.
The sexual predator has been eligible to begin the parole process since 2015 but in the past, has cancelled the proceeding six times before they began
