A deadly crash in Grimsby has claimed the life of one person sent three others to hospital.
It happened on Mountain Road at 1:10pm today and involved a minivan and two cars.
Niagara Regional Police say three people have been taken to hospital, one of them airlifted to an out of town hospital for treatment of injuries.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers with the Collision Reconstruction Unit remain at the scene.
Residents are asked to avoid the area of Mountain road between Elm Tree Rd and Kemp Rd as it is closed for the investigation.
Residents living in the area are expressing their concern and frustration following the crash.
Stewart Thorp tells CKTB News the vehicle speeds are excessive on Mountain Road and he wants town council to take action before someone else loses their life in front of his home.
He is hoping the speed limit will be dropped to 60 km/hr from the current 80 km/hr.
Thorp says his children get dropped off on the school bus on Mountain Road and he's very worried.
Witnesses on the scene say it was a woman who was driving a grey car who died on the scene and it was a boy in her car who was airlifted to hospital.
Thorp says all his children were playing out front at the time of the crash and it's extremely upsetting especially because they were already concerned about the speed limit.
Investigators from the Collision Reconstruction Unit request that anyone who witnessed the incident, please contact them at 905-688-4111 Extension 5500.
