A state of emergency continues in Brantford and residents living along the flood swollen Grand River may have to stay away until at least this afternoon.
Six Nations also declared a state of emergency yesterday afternoon because of possible flooding and abnormally high water levels, which were expected to peak overnight.

Meantime, Orangeville residents are bracing for tragedy as crews scour the Grand River for a three-year-old boy who was swept away by rushing waters yesterday.
The O-P-P says the boy was in a car with his mother when the vehicle plunged into the waters early yesterday but she lost her grip in the fast-moving water and the boy was swept downriver.
Police spent yesterday combing the area for the boy using helicopters, dive teams and ground search crews, but one local official described the effort as a recovery operation, rather than a rescue effort.
