The Niagara Regional Police Service has unveiled how much former Chief Jeff McGuire was paid out in retirement money.
Last week, the NRP's board chair Bob Gale announced with the consent of McGuire they will release the documents on the police website.
They released the retirement agreement Monday.
The Board paid McGuire $870,000.
The NRPS Board and McGuire had an extended agreement following a 5-year term for McGuire to continue to work until 2020, but he announced his intention to retire in 2017.
The Board agreed and paid McGuire $435,000 last year, and $435,000 this month (Jan 2018) to total $870,000.
McGuire was also allowed to keep his vehicle, cell phone and computer.
Current NRP Chief Bryan MacCulloch was sworn in October 2017.
