The support continues to pile up after a devastating fire at a flower farm in St. Catharines.
Kristen Sikking from Pioneer Flower Farms thanks the community for coming to their aid after the fire almost two weeks ago destroyed buildings at the farm, including migrant workers' living quarters.
"It was incredible, I mean, I think we raised - we just calculated numbers yesterday, and it's almost at $40,000 and still ongoing."
She also say she has been working with the St. Catharines' mayor's office to put out a call to action to find cold storage space for cut tulips.
"We lost 200,000 'mums, which is a huge loss for fall. And we lost 7 million New Zealand tulips which is our branch from now until Christmas."
Two local artists have also stepped forward to create a flower monument from the scrap metal left behind by the blaze.
Bethony Fowler from Rocketeer Welding and Floyd Elzinga will be working together to create something that will stand as a reminder of the past and a testament to the community's support during the family's difficult time.
