Niagara police are still trying to determine the source of a suspicious object found outside Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls.
Police were contacted by security around 9:30 a.m.
The explosive disposal unit was called in while there was a partial evacuation of the hospital.
The emergency department remained open.
A number of roads were closed in the area and Niagara Falls Fire Service and Niagara Emergency Medical Services were asked to stand by in the area.
Around 10:30AM, the object was determined to be safe and not a threat to public safety.
Even though the investigation remains open, police don't believe there was any criminal intent.
