UPDATE | Police still on scene in Grimsby

Niagara Regional Police are still asking people to avoid the area of Murray Street and Olive Street in Grimsby.

Police were called to the area at 10am for reports of a man in crisis.

Lakeview Elementary School and a nearby daycare have been put on lockdown out of an abundance of caution. but all students and children were able to exit safely and head home.

The situation is ongoing.

Crisis negotiators, Emergency Task Unit, K-9 unit, and uniform officers remain on scene to resolve the situation.
