Premier Wynne says Health Minister Eric Hoskins is trying to help fix a situation in which a couple married for nearly 70 years was placed in different long-term care homes.
The N-D-P raised the case of the elderly couple who had been living together at a retirement home in Grimsby then were sent to different homes -- one in Grimsby and one in nearby St. Catharines.
New Democrat health critic France Gelinas says the couple is not the first to go through this and the province must change its spousal reunification policy.
Wynne says Hoskins' office is working with the local Community Care Access Centre to find a solution
