A heads up for Niagara Falls motorists who frequent Thorold Stone Road.
The Region, who this morning said the route was closing for a little over a week, now says Thorold Stone between Stanley Avenue and Drummond/Portage Road will close at 7:00 a.m. on Monday December 3rd, and stay that way until Wednesday December 5th at 5:00 p.m.
The Region explaining recent weather has caused delays and CN was required to push back the date.
The closure is necessary for the rehabilitation of the railway crossing by Canadian National Railway and will include excavation of the track.
Both local residents and emergency services will only have access from either Regional Road 102 (Stanley Avenue) or Drummond Road / Portage Road during this closure.
Local businesses will remain open during the anticipated time period. No through traffic will be permitted.
Detours will be posted.
