Niagara Regional Police are searching for two men after a shooting in St. Catharines this afternoon which has sent three people to hospital.
Two of the victims have been airlifted to out-of-region hospitals, and one patient is being treated locally for non-life threatening injuries.
NRP Constable Phil Gavin says they continue to search for two armed suspects who are described as 19-23 years of age, black, and one was wearing a black hoodie and jeans.
The shooting happened at 3:43 today in the area of Niagara and Church Streets.
Officers are stationed outside a townhome next to St. Barnabas Church on Queenston Street, but several other areas of interest are being investigated.
Residents are being asked to avoid the areas.
Gavin says this is not an active shooter situation, but officers are actively searching for the two suspects.
He says at this point the NRP are not able to say whether this was a random or targeted incident.
Officers are now looking for images of the suspects from cameras in the area.
