The investigation into a spectacular crash in Niagara Falls is now in the hands of the province's Special Investigations Unit.
The saga began yesterday in Burlington, when police tried to pull over a car in Burlington, it fled the scene and travelled along the QEW to Niagara getting in multiple crashes along the way.
The SIU says the vehicle was followed by an OPP officer onto Drummond Road in Niagara Falls, where it left the roadway, struck a parked vehicle and then crashed into a building housing a tatoo parlour and Paradise Pools.
As a result of the collision, a 34-year-old woman who had been in the building sustained serious injuries.
She was transported to hospital for treatment.
Another individual in the building sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any serious injuries. She was arrested on the premises
The SIU is urging anyone who may have information about what transpired on Drummond Road – and leading up to the collision – to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529.
The Unit is also urging anyone who may have any video evidence related to this incident to upload that video through the SIU website.
