UPDATE Thorold Tunnel westbound lanes will be closed until Thursday

MTO is advising that the westbound lanes will be closed until Thursday August 10th
MTO is advising that the westbound lanes will be closed until Thursday August 10th.
The westbound lanes have been closed since Friday afternoon for emergency work after a load scraped the ceiling inside.
Ministry of Transportation says a flatbed truck carrying an excavator was going through the tunnel around noon when the excavator scraped the top inside.
It shut down the lanes to repair the damage to the ceiling panels.
