A tragic update after a woman was hit in Thorold crossing the street last week.
65-year-old Theresa Salfi, who is from Thorold died yesterday following the incident last Tuesday.
Police say Salfi was hit at 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26th at the intersection of Pine Street South and Albert Street West.
Police say it appears that she was crossing Pine Street South when she was struck by a 2014 Hyundai Elantra that was making the turn from Albert Street West onto Pine Street South.
Salfi was airlifted to an out of town hospital with life threatening injuries.
The 59-year-old female driver of the Hyundai is also a resident of Thorold and did not suffer any injuries in this collision.
This collision remains under investigation by Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit.
