Police were called to a home in the area West Main Street and Frazer Street in Welland around 3:30 a.m. this morning for an altercation between two men.
A 38-year-old male was airlifted to an out of town hospital for treatment.
Police have charged 24-year-old Justin Coffin of Welland with aggravated assault.
Further investigation led to charges against 38-year-old Jason Dionne. He's charged with assault with a weapon.
Dionne will appear in court in April.
Coffin is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Saturday.
