Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Niagara and much of southern Ontario today.

That special weather statement for Niagara has now been upgraded to a wind warning.

Environment Canada officials are warning of punishing winds kicking up to 90km/h - we could even see gusts as high at 100 km/h across the region.

The winds should start to let up later tonight as a high pressure ridge moves in.

Damage to buildings is possible, and loose objects may be tossed by the strong winds.
