Americans are waking up today to a Democrat House majority, while the Republicans maintan control of the Senate.
While it might not be the 'blue wave' some had been predicting, it does mark the first time the Democrats have won back the House in eight years.
They won a total of 222 seats - they needed 218 to take the House.
The Republicans have 51 seats in the Senate.
Both sides are hailing the results as a win, with President Donald Trump tweeting:
'Those that worked with me in this incredible Midterm Election, embracing certain policies and principles, did very well. Those that did not, say goodbye! Yesterday was such a very Big Win, and all under the pressure of a Nasty and Hostile Media!'
While House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said, "Tomorrow will be a new day in America. Remember this feeling; know the power to win! And almost all the congratulations to those dynamic, diverse, and incredible candidates who have taken back the House for the American people."
