Port Colborne is opening up a warming centre to keep residents safe.
As of noon today the Guild Hall will be open from 9am to 9pm daily.
Also in St. Catharines, warming centres at Market Square and the Russell Avenue Community Centre will remain open until Jan. 6.
St. Catharines City Hall, community centres and arenas are available during regular business hours as well.

In Niagara Falls, The River of Life Church on Dunn Street is open from 6pm to 7am tonight and tomorrow.
The City of Niagara Falls also issuing a release this afternoon adding the following sites are available for anyone who needs a place to warm up.

The City of Welland and Welland Public Library Branches are encouraging residents to exercise caution during extreme cold weather alerts. The city’s Cold Alert Program offers warming stations at the following city-owned facilities and Public Library Branches when temperatures drop below -15ºC.
