The city of St. Catharines sending out a reminder to its bylaw officers to follow the rules, after a video of a city vehicle parked in an accessible parking spot has gone viral.
Chris Bobro posted the video on his Facebook page of a city owned vehicle with its flashers on, parked partially in an accessible spot at the Fairview Mall over the weekeend.
Bobro, who has an accessible parking permit says he took the video because it's common for people without permits to use the spots.
A city official says bylaw officer was in the midst of checking to make sure cars parked in the spots had the proper permits.
Kristine Douglas, who oversees parking enforcement for the city, tells Post Media the video serves as a learning opportunity for all of the city's bylaw enforcement officers.
