There will be two vigils for 11-year-old Riya Rajkumar, the little girl who allegedly died at the hands of her father in Brampton.
The first vigil will be held this evening at Meadowvale Village Green Park, which is near the school where Riya was a Grade 5 student.
The organizer posted an invitation on Facebook for the vigil which will begin at 6 p.m.
City of Brampton flags were lowered to half-mast Friday, and a vigil is being planned Tuesday (Feb. 19) in Garden Square.
Meanwhile, her father, Roopesh Rajkumar, 41, of Brampton has been charged with first-degree murder in her death.
He remains in hospital recovering from unknown “medical issues,” according to police.
Police say he will appear in court once he is physically able to.
