A reminder of heroism, courage, and sacrifice has been planted at St. Catharines City Hall.
St. George's Anglican Church, the traditional Garrison Church of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment, has gifted a Vimy Oak to the city.
The tree is a direct descendent of fallen oak trees destroyed during the Battle of Vimy Ridge, and stands as a living tribute to Canadian soldiers who fought in the First World War.
The tree has been planted in the northwest corner of the city hall gardens.
