Scientists from Brock University are working with grape growers to save vineyards amidst the bitter cold.
As the temperature dropped, researchers and students headed out to the vineyards to collect grapevine buds to study their hardiness back at the lab.
Officials say they should know in the next few weeks what sort of impacts this deep freeze has had on crops.
This is all part of the VineAlert program in association with Grape Growers of Ontario.
