Voodoo Lily is alive and blooming in Niagara Falls.
Members of the Niagara Parks’ horticultural staff say the Giant Voodoo Lily has opened at the Floral Showcase and is expected to bloom over the next few days
A relative of the Titan Arum or Corpse Flower, the lily has been growing at an unbelievable rate of 30 centimetres a day and is now standing at close to 4 metres high, even taller than its more well known cousin.
Staff at the Floral Showhouse have been waiting nearly three years for the tall, skinny flower bud to open and bloom.
And yes, it does smell just as bad as its pungent relative.
