Concerns about possible strike at Canada Post could affect the municipal elections set for October 22nd.
Talks are continuing beyond today's strike deadline or lockout, but small communities that rely on mail-in ballots are already looking for alternatives in the event talks fail.
The Township of Wainfleet is one of the communities that does the mail-in ballots.
Ballot kits were mailed out September 20th, and electors were asked to place completed kits in the mail by October 11th, to ensure they would arrive at the township offices before 8:00 p.m. on election day.
A message on their website is advising voters that IF there is a mail strike, electors do not place their completed ballot kit in the mail.
Intead, they're asking voters deliver them directly to the Township of Wainfleet officers located on Highway 3.
