Wainfleet is cracking down on by-law disrespect.
The towns front line staff and protective services officials have been fielding an increased number of complaints about illegal parking, littering, blocking of fire lanes and open air burning.
Mayor Kevin Gibson says further investigation found both federal and provincial offences taking place in the community involving trespassing, public drinking, drag racing as well as failures to comply with the provincial ban on gatherings of more than 5 people.
Gibson calls the behaviour dangerously irresponsbile and puts public safety at risk.
Wainfleet plans to step up enforcement and has appointed several additional by-law officers.
The town has also partnered with the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) and Niagara Regional Police (NRP) to address the issues and help protect public safety.
