Niagara Regional Police are looking for 51 year old Jason Gerald Grove following an incident yesterday afternoon in the Garden City.
Around 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon police observed a man driving a red Buick SUV.
Detectives recognized the man as someone prohibited from driving and approached the vehicle when it was stopped in the area of Haig and Perry Streets.
A passenger in the car was observed to be in possession of a suspected illegal drug.
During the arrest of the passenger, the driver feld the scene and smashed the NRP vehicle.
The officer was not injured.
The NRPS SUV sustained approximately $2000 in damage.
Arrested at the scene by Street Crime detectives was 49 year old William Orr of St. Catharines.
Orr is charged with Possession of Schedule 1 Substance Contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Fail to comply with Probation Contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.
Orr was released on a Promise to Appear. He will appear in court September 28th.
Grove who is from St. Catharines is wanted for the alleged offences of:
Driving While Prohibited contrary to section 259(4) of the Criminal Code
Trafficking in a Schedule 1 substance (Oxycodone) contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle contrary to section 249(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
Flight From Police contrary to section 249.1(1) of the Criminal Code
Fail to stop at scene of accident contrary to section 252(1)(c) of the Criminal Code
Fail to comply with Probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code
Fail to comply with an OIC undertaking contrary to section 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code
Grove remains at large.

The location of the red Buick SUV (Ont. BLNP507) remains unknown.
It will have approximately $2000 in damage to the driver's sider door area.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Jason Gerald Grove or the Buick SUV are asked to call the NRPS or Crime Stoppers of Niagara.
