A warning from Hamilton police after a local man died while out fishing on the weekend.
Police say in light of the record setting warm temperatures, people should not skate, walk or fish on ice covered streams, lakes and ponds.
The body of a 68 year old man was recovered yesterday after he fell through the ice Saturday while out fishing on a pond in the Waterford North Conseration area.
Police say his nine year old grandson, who was skating at the pond tried to help, but he also fell through the ice,
Two bystanders were able to rescue the boy but not his grandfather who police have identified as Jani Daliyanazlou of Hamilton.
