An OPP officer's retirement goodbye is going viral.
Norfolk OPP Constable Chris Murray, a 30 year veteran of the service, was emotional as he delivered his final sign off over the weekend. "I just want to put it out to all units, it's been a good run for 30 years. Thanks very much for all the safety, and keeping my back safe."
He choked back tears as he said goodbye to his co-workers and friends. "It's a tough day, but thank you so much. All of you. And be safe. Please. I'm signing off for the last time. 10 - 7. PC Murray. Thanks very much."
The tears continued to flow as his kids, waiting in another car, called back the confirmation.
"You have helped countless people in their darkest times, and you will never be forgotten," his daughter says, voice shaking as she hands the radio to Murray's son.
"Dad, our entire family is very proud of you and what you have accomplished. It is time to come home." His son continues. "Dad, you are officially 10 - 7."
Murray takes a deep breath, offers his thanks again, and finishes by saying, "It's been a great ride."
More than 30,000 people have seen the video posted by the OPP.
