The first fire broke out on Shakespeare Ave during the early morning hours after cooking was left unattended in the basement of the home.
As a precaution, a four year old girl was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.
The total damage is estimated at $80,000.
Later that same day, fire crews quickly tackled a second fire on Ottawa Street.
Officials believe that blaze was started after the control knobs on the front of the stove were accidently turned on and combustible material left on the stovetop ignited.
No injuries are being reported, but the damage is pegged at $5,000.
