A man has been arrested after a fatal house explosion in Kitchener.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene on Sprucedale Crescent on August 22nd as bits of rubble littered the neighbourhood after one home was demolished and two others sustained extensive damage.
58 year old Edresilda Haan was killed in the explosion while a male resident of the home was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries. Police say the man remains in hospital.
On Monday, Waterloo Regional Police officers arrested a 58 year old Kitchener man, charging him with one count of first degree murder, one count of arson disregard for human life, and two counts of arson damage to property.
The man is expected to appear in court today.
