If you take the St. Catharines bound Thorold Tunnel to work, you will have to find an alternate route until Friday at the earliest.
The Ministry of Transport now says it may take until the end of the week to repair damage to the ceiling tiles.
The westbound lanes of the tunnel were closed last Friday after a flatbed truck carrying an excavator struck the walls and ceiling.
The driver of the truck has been charged with having an over-height load.
MTO spokesperson Astrid Poei says the replacement concrete panels have to be made and then shipped to Thorold which is causing the delay.
