A Winter Weather Travel Advisory is in effect for all of Niagara today.
Environment Canada says a band of lake effect snow will hit portions of eastern Lake Erie early this morning.
The weather office says the band will slowly move northward through the morning reaching the St. Catharines area before the noon hour.
The band is then expected to shift back south this afternoon and out of the region by this evening.
South Niagara will get the most snow, about 10 to 15 cm is possible, while North Niagara will see considerably less.
Travel today will likely be hazardous at times and gusty winds may result in areas of blowing snow and poor visibility.
