A special weather statement has been issued for Niagara.
Environment Canada says an area of snow or ice pellets has crossed over Southwestern Ontario and is now hovering over Niagara.
We could get 2 cm of snow, but freezing rain is also possible.
Any freezing rain is expected to be fairly brief, but locally slippery conditions are possible, on untreated surfaces.
Snow has started in St.Catharines (as of 1pm) and Niagara Falls is reporting a snow/ice mix.
In Niagara Falls, OPP are reporting multiple crashes on the QEW between McLeod and Lyons Creek due to poor weather conditions. (As of 2pm)
