Niagara and Hamilton are under a winter storm warning
Environment Canada says a major winter storm is expected to track south of the Great Lakes this weekend and could bring some major snow will it.
Meteorologist Mitch Meredith says the worst of it will hit the southern tier.
"On the west end of Lake Ontario we're talking about Burlington, Hamilton, right down to the US border, Niagara Falls, quite a significant storm with 15 - 25 cm and as well that blowing snow."
The storm will bring brisk winds and bitterly cold wind chill values near minus 20
However the weather office cautions, there is still some uncertainty about the track of the storm; if it moves south we may not get as much snow but the winds and cold temperatures will stay the same.
