Niagara Regional Police say in just 45 minutes they arrested three people for impaired driving and two more were handed three day licence suspensions.
Another RIDE stop in Chippawa saw 450 vehicles checked.
No one was arrested for impaired driving but almost a dozen drivers received tickets for various Highway Traffic Act offences.
The Niagara Regional Police would like to remind all drivers to find an alternative means of transportation if their evening involves the consumption of alcohol or drugs. Impaired driving is still the leading criminal offence causing deaths in Canada.
