Two Niagara municipalities joining forces in an effort to save money.
The Mayors of Thorold and Welland have signed a deal to work together on joint purchasing and procurement initiatives.
In a release, Mayor Ted Luciani and Mayor Frank Campion point out municipalities purchase a lot of goods and services ever year, such as vehicles, road salt, paper towels and computers.
As muncipal budgets continue to be stretched thin, the two muncipalities say they need to find innovative ways to keep costs in line.
