We often think about donating blood to other people in need, but the Welland and District Humane Society is asking pet owners to consider coming out to their canine blood drive.
The blood collected from local dogs will be used to help other animals who undergo surgery, are fighting a disease, or suffer a traumatic injury.
Participating dogs must be between one year and eight years old, more than 55 pounds, up to date on their shots, and have an even temperament.
The blood drive is happening Monday, November 19th at the Welland and District Regional Spay Neuter Clinic, 700 East Main Street.
